Omar Avina-Trejo
 Union Representative

Omar Aviña-Trejo was born in Mexico City and lived there till age fifteen when he moved to Oregon.  Omar is the son of Arturo Aviña and Alicia Trejo; he also has a brother and a sister.  Omar got his experience with unions at an early age; thanks to his father who worked for General Motors in Mexico City and was involved with his union.

He attended Woodburn high and graduated in 1996.  Omar also attended Lane Community College and is working towards a degree in computer drafting. He has worked in the retail industry for some time; he started in the fast food industry and eventually went to work for Safeway in March 2000 where he became a shop steward at that West Salem Safeway.
