UFCW
Local 555 has been an important part of
my life from the beginning as both my
parents come from union families and
brought me up with the same passion for
workers rights. During the Portland
strike of 1990, I worked at strike
headquarters for the duration. From
that time I learned determined people
who work together can make progress.
After high school I attended Multnomah
Bible College with the intention of
serving in some sort of ministry, but I
found that wasn't for me. After
graduation, I took a temporary job with
Local 555 and eventually became a UFCW
Representative. As a rep, I have served
grocery workers, fish plant employees,
legal clerks, meat cutters and pharmacy
techs, all of whom have proved to be
some of the hardest working, most
remarkable individuals I have ever met.
I am fortunate to have worked with these
people.
Outside of work, my passion is
photography. I enjoy nothing more than
finding that perfect picture.
