Thea
Dooley has been a member of United Food
& Commercial Workers Union for seventeen
years. She started working for
Albertsons at age seventeen and later
worked for both Safeway and Fred Meyer.
Thea
worked for Fred Meyer for six years
during which time she was a picket
captain in the 1994 strike and a shop
steward.
In 1995
Thea attended the Union Summer program
in Detroit Michigan. During the three
week program, which is primarily geared
towards organizing, she was able to work
with United Auto Workers and Operating
Engineers.
In 1996 Thea joined the
staff of UFCW Local 555 as an organizer
and has been working for the Local
either as an organizer or a
representative ever since.
