Union Representative
Sam
Gillispie has been a Union
Representative with the Local since
September 2000. Sam came to us from
Oregon AFSCME Council # 75 where he
worked for over 25 years. Sam has
negotiated over 450 Labor contracts and
has done over 100 grievance and contract
arbitrations in his career.
Sam
graduated from Puyallup High School in
Washington State. He went on to college
and graduated from Central Washington
State University as a History and
Political Science major. He moved to the
City of Portland and became a union
member and went to work for the Union
full time in 1975.
Sam has 3
grown daughters who he enjoys spending
time with when everyone’s schedule
permits. Sam likes to watch sports on
television, is a big Seattle Mariner and
Seattle Seahawks fan, and likes working
in his yard.
