 Mike
Marshall
Union Representative
Mike came on staff in July 2006. He came from
Coos Bay, OR where he was a Bus Driver for Laidlaw
and a member of the Local since August of 2000.
Mike was a Shop Steward and Safety Committee
Member since 2001, serving as Secretary and
Chairman. He was also the representative for
Laidlaw on the Coos Bay Schools Safety
Committee, and frequently spoke before other
organizations and public bodies advocating for
the needs of his fellow co-workers. Mike has
experience with collective bargaining, serving
on steering and negotiating committees, and has
helped negotiate settlements to grievances.
In
2004 he was a part of a committee that
researched health care, and brought affordable
health care options to the employees at
Laidlaw.
Besides working as in "In House Rep",
Mike is also one of Local 555's two Wake-Up Wal-Mart
Coordinators.
Mike and his wife Christy have
been married since 2000. In their spare time
they enjoy traveling, fishing, camping and going
to watch baseball games.
