Mary Spicher is a Field
Representative for UFCW Local 555. Mary comes to
Local 555 as a long time member. In 2007
Mary left Fred Meyer after 33 years to join our
staff. Mary spent 18 years as a Shop Steward
where she would take care of her fellow
coworkers ensuring that the contract was
followed. Mary has been on the Executive
Board and a delegate to the Northwest Oregon
Labor Council (NOLC) since 1996. She was picket
captain for her Fred Meyer store during the
strikes of 1990 and1994. She is the single
mother of a now grown daughter so she knows what
it is like to juggle work and family life. In
her spare time she enjoys golf, puzzles
(crossword and Sudoku), and reading. Mary grew
up in the Portland area the oldest of five
children and the only Democrat in this family.
