Organizing: Volunteer Organizing

Organizing the unorganized is one of the primary responsibilities of our union.  The importance of organizing is greater today than it has ever been.  The Labor Movement is facing attacks from all sides.  The key to successful organizing efforts lies in membership participation.

As a member of the Volunteer Organizing Committee (VOC), a member is committed to assisting union staff in organizing the non-union stores and departments.  They realize that they can no sit on the sidelines and say, "someone else will do it," but that they need to stand up and take action themselves.

Volunteer Organizers of UFCW 555 go out and talk to their fellow non-union co-workers about the benefits and protections of a union contract. It means much more to a co-worker to hear about your positive experiences with being union and ways that the union contract has benefited you or other union members.

If you are interested in joining the VOC, fill out and submit the contact form.

The Executive Officers are committed to communicating with the membership. Above you will notice 15 flags, by clicking a flag the current page will be converted into that language.  Again it is our hope that this makes getting information out to you, the members, easier and more effective.
